GENERAL COORDINATION

The General Coordinator  is responsible for publicly representing the organization, as well as establishing institutional relations with society and academia. He or she guarantees  the operation of each of the areas of the organization along with monitoring the five year strategic plan. The coordinator is the link between the assembly of associates and the people who daily collaborate with the organization.

Lawyer from the University of Guadalajara (UdeG) and Master in International Relations Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He is a professor of International Law and Human Rights at UdeG and at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO). In 2018 he published the book: From legality to labor trafficking: the case of Mexican temporary workers in the United States. Guadalajara, Jalisco: CUCSH-University of Guadalajara. ISBN: 978-607-547-204-1. His research interests include: Forced Migration and Human Rights; International Law of Refugees.

He was Fieldwork Coordinator of the Mexican Migration Project (07-12); Deputy Visitor of the V Vice Province of the CNDH (2012); Head of the Data Protection Department of the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara (14-15). He is currently the executive director of Dignidad y Justicia en el Camino A.C.

He is an honorary representative of civil society in the Consultative Assembly of the Executive Commission for Attention to Victims (CEAV) at the Federal level; as well as a member of the Consultative Council of the Institute of Transparency and Public Information of Jalisco (ITEI). He is also a member of the Mexican Bar, Bar Association, Jalisco A.C chapter.

Graduated with a degree in International Relations from the University of Guadalajara. She currently works as a research and executive direction assistant at Dignidad y Justicia en el Camino FM4 Paso Libre. In this role, she has collaborated on multiple research tasks, including assisting with the drafting, interviews, and presentation of the 2020 REDODEM report “Human Mobility in Confinement.” For six months (November 2020 to May 2021), she worked as an assistant to the Regional Coordinator for Latin America and the Caribbean of ICVA (International Council of Voluntary Agencies), supporting with official translations of the organization’s reports and monthly bulletins, sharing information among regional coordinators in different areas: Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, and helping in the coordination of ICVA forums in LATAM. From March 2018 to the present, she has been working as an intern for the Secretary of Culture in Zapopan, Jalisco, performing administrative work for the Zapopan Municipal Choir. In this position, she is involved in the management and logistics of cultural projects and events, in collaboration with the Zapopan Secretary of Culture, Conjunto Santander, and the Teatro Degollado, bringing large-scale operas and concerts to the stage.
