In collaboration with UNHCR offices since 2018, we have been working on the implementation of a reception and follow-up project for refugees and asylum seekers who seek to settle and restart their lives in the state of Jalisco. We receive them, guide them upon arrival, accompany them in exercising their rights in the city, and provide follow-up during their integration process into the city.
As of the end of 2020, 1,166 people had been served. Their work documents have been managed, labor orientation workshops provided, linked to formal jobs, psychosocial orientation and care provided, referrals to health services, psychological and psychiatric care, educational services, technical training, and university studies.
Objectives:
Support refugees transferred from UNHCR offices in southern Mexico and those who arrive on their own to the city, to start a new life in Guadalajara, facilitating their access to the labor market and housing, as well as effective access to rights and public services such as education and health, among others.
