POLITICAL AND SOCIAL IMPACT

It has the responsibility to generate and monitor the impact on public policies at local, national and international levels, as well as social impact, through articulation with other organizations, groups, educational institutions, religious, networks and government, in order to generate normative and legislative changes in migratory matters, the awareness of society so that it is hospitable and in solidarity with migrants and refugees.

Public Relations area is composed of three sub-areas:
Political Incidence

Interlocution is entrusted to governmental actors of the three levels of government, trying to ensure that the human rights perspective towards migrants and refugees is present in the activity they carry out..

Social Incidence – Community Education

Carry out community work with the local population in the ZMG to raise awareness and awareness of the reality of migrants, seeking to create support networks and hospital communities.

Communication, Press and Social Media

Generates and disseminates audiovisual materials that pay for the positioning of our perspective and work model; In addition, it coordinates the relationship with the media seeking to enrich the approach with which the issue of migration and refuge is addressed.

Bachelor’s in International Studies from the University of Guadalajara and Master’s in Gender Studies from El Colegio de México. Her first introduction to migration was thanks to Dr. Ofelia Woo, with whom she worked as a research assistant. She later worked on the “Mexican Migration Project,” coordinated by Dr. Jorge Durand and Dr. Douglas Massey. She is currently a professor at the University of Guadalajara in the Department of International Studies. She is part of the advisory group for UN Women in the Safe Cities program in Guadalajara. She also collaborates with the Advisory Council for Inmujeres Guadalajara. Within the organization, she serves as the coordinator of the political and social advocacy area.

She is a student of the Bachelor’s degree in International Relations at the University of Guadalajara. In 2019, she started as a volunteer in the organization, participating in the legal assistance area, and specialized in job placement for asylum seekers and refugees during her collaboration in the Local Integration Program (PIL) in the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area (AMG). She has also worked as a volunteer translator at the Guadalajara International Book Fair (FIL) and has assisted Lusophone individuals in mobility contexts. She believes that knowledge should always be collective and accessible and is committed to fighting for dignified existence.

She holds a degree in Psychology from the University of Costa Rica and has experience in community psychology, human resources, teaching, participatory community processes, mental health care for people in mobility, crisis intervention, and addressing emergency and disaster situations from a psychosocial perspective.

She is driven by the creation of increasingly welcoming community spaces that facilitate the building of connections for the integration of people in mobility situations. She wants to believe that with a little information and awareness, we all have the capacity to be more welcoming of all “others.”
